The Harvard Coop, notoriously known as the official bookstore of Harvard University, is a children’s book Mecca. It is one of our favorite Cambridge bookstores.

This store features a section entitled “The Coop for Kids” with an entire department devoted solely to kids’ books, puzzles, collections, games, and activities.

Kids’ Storytime

Twice a week the Harvard Coop has story time for your little one to engage in: Tuesdays and Saturdays at 11 a.m. Tuesdays focus on the preschool group, but parents and babies are invited to attend the readings of Mother Goose rhymes, sing-alongs, and other educational activities.

Saturdays are for children 7 and under, and while the focus is on stories, it also is a craft day that often revolves around the season. For example, your winter Cambridge visit might bring jolly old St. Nick to the Harvard Coop, or your sizzling summer visit might bring a beach-related activity. Children and parents alike can enjoy some old fashioned Cambridge fun!
