Tour de France Grand Départe Trophy
One of the Tour de France trophies, The Tour de France Grand Départe trophy is touring England before reaching the start of the 2014 Tour de France in Leeds. The trophy is commissioned by the organizing organization of tour, Amaury Sports Organisation (ASO). The Grand Départe trophy is designed by French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
The overall trophy of the Tour de France is the biggest honour. The trophy is manufactured by Severs Manufacture. According to inrng.com, each year the trophy is awarded ‘in the name of the Presidency of the French republic.’ The trophy is both unique and beautiful.
Other prizes other than trophies include jerseys and prize money. In addition to the yellow jersey, each stage winner receives a stuffed lion, courtesy of the French bank Credit Lyonnaise, which has sponsored the yellow jersey since 1987.
