Cambridge University’s Cricket Club
Cambridge University Cricket Club is Cambridge’s first-class cricket team for male students, founded in 1820.The club has two men’s teams (The Blues and the Crusaders) as well as a women’s team. Fenner’s Ground has been home to the club since 1848 and it is where all the home fixtures are played.
It is also home to the MCC Cambridge Centre of Cricketing Excellence, which is a partnership between the University of Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin University and the MCC. Many players who have been part of the cricket club have gone on to have very successful professional cricket careers. Team members play various fixtures during the year in addition to the varsity matches played against Oxford for the coveted cricket Blue.
Since women’s cricket has also become popular a Cambridge University as of late, Cambridge University Women’s Cricket Club has their own fixture list and varsity matches.
