Interested in learning the skills needed to run or join a digital business? Then the Digital Business Academy is the place for you.

About Digital Business Academy

Digital Business Academy was launched in November 2014 with the goal of giving its users the skills they need to start, run or join a digital business. This government-backed program seeks to prepare more individuals to join the ever-growing number of digital businesses in the UK.

Digital Business Academy was founded by Tech City UK, the collection of start-up tech companies in London’s ‘Silicon Roundabout,’ in conjunction with University College London and Cambridge University’s Judge Business School.

As of November 2014, Digital Business Academy courses are only available to students in the UK. However, the Academy hopes to open courses to international students in the future.

Currently, Digital Business Academy offers eight free courses designed to help students develop business ideas, manage digital products, build a brand and more.

Each course includes videos and assignments that guide students through their workload. These may be online courses, but students can still expect to take some quizzes and homework.

Students also have access to discussion forums, where they can connect and communicate with their colleagues.

Best of all, students do not have to complete all eight courses. They can feel free to take courses that are particularly interesting or relevant to their career goals.

Digital Business Academy Rewards

Upon completion of a course, students are sent a digital badge and certificate recognizing their achievement. But the rewards don’t stop there.

Digital Business Academy is partnered with a number of the UK’s top tech businesses to provide a unique set of rewards to its students.

Students have access to free co-working space from companies such as Launch22, Microsoft Ventures, and Dotforge. They can also receive priority internship consideration at businesses including Codecademy, Unruly, Dizzyjam, and more.

There are even mentoring and job training opportunities offered by Digital Business Academy as rewards.
