About the MIT Tour
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology offers tours for prospective students, accepted students, and visitors interested in the institution.
The MIT Admissions Office offers admissions information sessions Monday through Friday at 10 am and 2 pm. It takes place in Lobby 7 (77 Massachusetts Avenue).
The tour covers a wide range of topics, from academics to student life at MIT to the admissions process.
These information sessions last about one hour and are immediately followed by a student-led campus tour, which covers some of MIT’s most popular areas, including the:
- Student Center
- Kresge Auditorium
- MIT Chapel
- Infinite Corridor
- Stata Center.
Although not required, reservations are highly recommended for the information sessions, especially during the summer months as these are peak visiting times.

If you are planning on visiting with a group of 10 or more people, MIT does require that you make special arrangements for a private group tour through the MIT Admissions website. Prices for private group tours are reasonable and vary depending on the size of the group.
For those visiting the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with limiting schedules, MIT offers a tour mobile app that allows you to conduct your own self-guided tour. The app is available for the iPhone, iPod, and Android!
