About the Amigos School
The Amigos School is a dual-language school where classes are taught half in English and half in Spanish. Students here are instructed to become bilingual, proficiently reading, writing, and speaking in both Spanish and English.

In 2013, Spanish was the most spoken non-English language in the United States. A record 37.5 million people ages 5 and older speak Spanish. Clearly, the need to communicate in such a growing foreign language is strong. That’s where this school steps in.
The school partners with Harvard University and Cambridge School Volunteers. Both institutions bring in volunteers that work one-on-one with the second graders.
With the help of Harvard students and volunteers, kids at the school become immersed in both the Spanish speaking and English speaking world. They are also encouraged to read and write in both languages.
The school also provides quality after-school programs to enrich the student learning experience.
The Amigos School continues their dual-language education through the 8th grade. It is unique in that it is the only Spanish immersion school in Cambridge. ¡Que chevre!
