About Border Cafe
32 Church Street
Forget Harvard Square. You’ll think you’re living on the US-Mexico border with the Tex-Mex style eats at Border Cafe.
Border Cafe is one of those tangy, zesty, spicy restaurants that the east coast simply doesn’t have. Each dish is seasoned to perfection with an authentic Mexican flair.
Welcome to Texas
When you walk in, you’ll no doubt admire the ostentatious and often hilarious wall decòr. You’ll see signs for “Tejas” and the salt and paper shakers will be in an old Corona bottle. This all adds to the vibe, the one that transplants you from Cambridge’s academic hub to somewhere deep south of the border.
Although its called a “cafe,” this restaurant is a sit-down kind of place with an extensive bar. Sip on a house-made margarita or sangria or play it safe and order a Dos XX, it’s all up to you.
Authentic Tex-Mex Menu in Harvard Square
Whatever you do though, don’t skip out on appetizers. Border has everything you could ask for, including flaky, crispy empanadas, tower-high loaded nachos, cajun chicken, and crawfish.
There’s something on the menu for everyone at Border Cafe, no matter if you are vegan, vegetarian, or even gluten-free. The restaurant is open late, it’s cheap, and it’s pretty dang good. Make your tastebuds point south of the border today.
