About Grendel’s Den
89 Winthrop Street
Grendel’s Den is one of the many reasons we love Harvard Square. This restaurant and bar has been open for over 40 years, and it’s a staple of the Cambridge community. Tourists, residents, and everyone alike visits Grendel’s, if not for their delicious food then for their many drinks, beers, and fantastic customer service.
In terms of food, the restaurant prides itself on serving top-notch and quality meat, vegetables, and grains. The meals are “worldly” and fit for people of all dietary needs.
Grendel’s Den Menu
On the menu you’ll find everything you could want. For salads, feast on classics like Caesar, Mediterranean, Santa Fe, and Greek. Soups include homemade vegan chili, soup of the day, and vegetarian soup of the day.
Just feel like grabbing a bite? Take a chomp out of their Chips & Salsa, Hummus & Tahini, Potato Skins, Sambal Chicken Skewers, Hot Spinach & Artichoke & Snow Crab Dip, Buffalo Wings, Nachos, Mussels, and – our favorite – Cheese Fondue.
Main dishes include Pasta with Pesto, Fettucini with Gorgonzola, Black Bean or Chicken or Pork Burritos, Spinach Pie, Grilled Chicken, or Grilled Vegetables.
There is a wide variety of fish dishes as well, including: Scottish Farmed Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Today’s Catch.
You can also order one of their many sandwiches, wraps, banquets, toppings, or—of course!—beverages.
