Porter Square

Gran Gusto Trattoria is a fantastic Italian eatery in the Porter Square neighborhood. Directly north of Harvard, it offers first-class Northern and Southern Italian favorites to the Greater Boston and Cambridge areas.

All dishes are prepared daily in the restaurant to ensure freshness, and to ensure authenticity, over 80 percent of the food ingredients come from Italy each week. Mamma mia! This is the real deal.

What’s more, the restaurant offers a lovely ambiance perfect for dates, nights out, or anything in between. There are two rooms in the restaurants and an outdoor patio. Rooms may be reserved for company parties, regular parties, corporate events, birthdays, art shows, and more.

Gran Gusto Menu

The menu is seasonal, not just for what is in season and fresh in Cambridge, but what is fresh in Italy. Chef Giuseppe Castellano then selects the best ingredients to prepare a wide range of authentic Italian food.

For appetizers, treat yourself to fantastic per iniziare such as salumi (mixed cold cuts, cheese, fruit mustard), scamorza (grilled
smoked
mozzarella
 &
vegetables
marinated
 in
 an apple
vinaigrette), gamberi (fried
 calamari,
Sicilian
 red
 shrimp,
zucchini), or another classic favorite. We recommend the melanzane (eggplant
 parmigiana). Perfecto.

Lunch and dinner menus are exquisite, with special and delicious twists on pasta, pizza, meat, chicken, and fish. Gran Gusto’s ravioli dish is stuffed with
straciatella
cheese,
cherry
tomato, and
 eggplant
sauce.

You also can’t go wrong with their fish—the spigola plate consists of pan‐seared
 Montauk
striped
 bass,
julienned
 vegetables,
 and white
wine
sauce.

There are many reasons why Gran Gusto is one of our favorites, but you’ll have to eat there to find out.
