About Emma’s Pizza

Walking into Emma’s Pizza there is an immediate sense of intimacy and comfort. The rustic wooden tables and the mismatched chairs give the small restaurant a feeling of home. It’s like I’m sitting in someone’s kitchen. Mint green walls contrast with a strip of brick-colored paint that melts into taupe, adding to the relaxed, home-like atmosphere.

The flickering candles add a mood that could be both romantic and cozy and the clientele ranges from families to couples to friends. Perhaps the most striking and interesting decoration in Emma’s, however, are the pizza paddles that adorn the walls.

Customers and employees paint the paddles that hang on the wall and feature everything from Mario to a pastoral farm scene. It is this funky and fun detail that makes Emma’s friendly and inviting.Emma Pizza Cambridge

The smell of brick oven pizza wafts over to our table and I can practically taste the crispy crust and gooey cheese in my mouth. From the table I can see the oven and the delicious pizzas slide in and out.

Looking over the menu is almost overwhelming, what with all of the mouthwatering choices like crispy smoked bacon, scallions, gorgonzola, house roasted tomato, garlic olive oil, and light mozzarella and thyme roasted mushrooms, roasted red peppers, green peppers, traditional sauce, and smoked mozzarella.

My Meal at Emma’s

My friend and I eventually settled on a 16” pizza that was half baby spinach, roasted sweet potatoes, caramelized onions, garlic rosemary sauce, mozzarella, and goat cheese and half artichoke hearts, garlic, house roasted tomato, rosemary sauce, light mozzarella, and ricotta.

Unlike many pizza places the pizza wasn’t dripping with grease and didn’t seem as though it had been made a few hours earlier. The pizza was the perfect temperature and it was obvious that it was made just for us. Each slice had a generous serving of the toppings with huge chunks of sweet potato and dollops of goat cheese and ricotta.

The crust was thin and crispy and formed a perfect canvas for the ingredients. Most impressive of all, however, was how fresh it tasted. From the spinach to the artichokes, it was apparent that Emma’s made this pizza with care and consideration for the customer. Quality is clearly a major concern.

If you are looking for a casual yet inventive and unique pizza place, then look no further than Emma’s. You’ll feel right at home while devouring a deliciously different slice.
