October, the month where candy is abundant and scaring is always intentional. Whether you’re prepared for it or not, soon the spider webs will be up, the jack o’ lanterns will be glowing and the witches will be out!
In the meantime, while you’re waiting for Hocus Pocus and scary movie thrillers to start playing, October events in Cambridge are a real treat this month. Oktoberfest, Cinderella, Edgar Allen Poe and other festive events await you in the month of October.
The Mummy at Brattle Theatre
40 Brattle St, Cambridge
October 9th at 9:30 pm
Speaking of scary movies, I’m pretty sure The Mummy qualifies. You know, the movie with Brendan Fraser (what a guy) where a mummy is accidentally brought back to life? That’s the one!
Now it may come as a disappointment to some, but The Mummy with Brendan Fraser is actually a remake. The Mummy is one of the October events in Cambridge this month and it will be playing at the Brattle theatre!
Even though the version of The Mummy isn’t the one with the hansom Mr. Fraser, you can still catch all the horror from the original!
Watch as the shadows hide the decayed body of Imhotep, a high priest brought back from the dead who is on a mission to awaken the love of his life. But while he’s at it, he might as well kill a few people and bring chaos to Egypt!
Cinderella at the Boston Opera House
Boston Opera House
539 Washington St, Boston
Performances go on up until October 11
Tickets from $75
We’ve all heard the tale of Cinderella. We’ve all heard about the beautiful dress, the pumpkin carriage and the glass slippers. Well now is your chance to see this fairytale live at the Boston Opera House!
Now I know Cinderella at the Boston Opera House is technically not one of the October events in Cambridge this month. But in my defense, my inner child couldn’t help but spread the word.
Cinderella is the tony-award winning Broadway musical brought to you from the creators of The King and I! The directors take a fresh new take on the classic fairytale with an incredible orchestra and jaw dropping moments.
Don’t worry, all the most memorable moments will be in the musical as well; I mean it’s not Cinderella without the glass slipper, the pumpkin carriage, the glass slippers and the masque ball!
Let your inner child out, or take your kids, and come see this unforgettable classic tale live on stage!
