With the end of July coming up fast, Cambridge is bursting with fun events in an attempt to make the summer last. Jazz festivals, Comic Con, and concerts await you in these last couple weeks during July!

2nd Annual Cambridge Jazz Festival

University Park Commons, Sidney Street
Sunday, July 26th from 12pm to 6pm
Free Admission

Jazz music, when listened too, has a way of winding its beautiful melody around your soul. Soul music is the better name for it. The Cambridge Jazz Festival is on a mission to reunite the people of Cambridge with the wondrous tunes that make up Jazz.

Take a lazy day, and relax in the gardens of MIT while listening to Grammy Award winning jazz! There will be festive food and drinks, a beer garden and arts and crafts for all to enjoy.

Not to mention the stellar lineup of performers such as Cambridge born Nnenna Freelon, piano legend JoAnne Brackeen, the Ron Savage Trio, percussionist Eguie Castrillo  and so many more! Don’t miss out on this Cambridge event!

Comic Con

Seaport World Trade Center
200 Seaport Blvd., Boston
July 31- August 2
Admission: $30 for a single day pass

Comic con is where it’s at. If you’re like me, and a total nerd at heart, Comic con is the place to be. This is the place where super heroes and super villains are appreciated to the fullest capacity.

This is the place, where you can battle it out about which joker is better: Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson. Where you can meet the masterminds behind your favorite comics, and dress up like your favorite character.

Even though Comic Con is not technically a Cambridge event, Comic Con is too big to pass up writing about. In this good year of 2015, awesome things are happening at this year’s Boston convention.

For example: if your dream is to create comics, Boston Comic Con will have editors from Marvel, DC Comics, and IDW Publishing on hand to look at artwork and give you pointers on what it takes to break into the comics industry.

Not to mention Stan Lee will be there, and you could potentially meet him! You know, Stan Lee, the guy that co-created Spider-Man, Iron Man, Daredevil, The Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Silver Surfer.

At Boston Comic Con there will also be the annual film festival, a costume contest, gaming and so much more! Don’t be shy, let your inner nerd come forth and enjoy all that Comic Con has to offer.
