Shear Madness isn’t your average hair salon, and it isn’t your average play, for that matter.

This whodunit murder mystery comedy is set in a salon and throughout this interactive play, audience members get to help find clues, question suspects, and ultimately decide who got a little out of hand with their scissors.

Great for children young and at heart, this is a show you can see over and over again because everyone gets a piece of the murder game, with the plot changing every show. Part scripted, part improvisation, Shear Madness will have you laughing the whole way through with it’s unique blend of comedy.

History of Shear Madness

Shear Madness began in New York in 1976 and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records [speaking of the Record book, buy one here] as the longest running play in the history of the country. It made its way over to Boston in 1980 and has since spread across the United States and the globe, reaching over 10 million people in 10 different translations.

The Boston Globe has deemed this show “Best Comedy of the Year” seven different times and it has won many other awards in cities all over the country.

See a preview of the show below. If this doesn’t have you laughing, then who knows what will?
