A festival of colors, what could that entail you ask? Let me tell you. The celebrated Brooklyn band Red Baraat, colorful powder being thrown at you and dancing. This Cambridge event is not to be missed.
Red Baratt is a pretty unique band, considering they fuse together two kinds of music: indie and jazz. They create a sound where you can’t help but sway along to the rhythm.
Red Baratt has played at the White House, Monterey Jazz Festival, and even the London 2012 Olympics. Having listened to their music I can understand why they are so popular; the happy vibe they give off is more than contagious.
The Festival of Colors celebrates the Hindu holiday of Holi which is marked by public gatherings of families and strangers sharing songs, dance and exchanging of ‘colors’- colorful dry powder that is playfully thrown against the crowd.
So, when you add Red Baraat’s unique and infectious sound with dancing and colorful powder being thrown around it is bound to be an amazingly fun time. Just remember colorful powder will be thrown at you, so wear white!
