Cambridge and Boston often go hand in hand, but this week we’re shining the light on Boston events. In honor of our newly updated Visit Boston page, we decided to focus on the can’t-miss events happening this weekend in the (not so) big city next door.

Zoo Howl

Franklin Park Zoo, Boston
11 a.m.-3 p.m.
$17.95 General Admission, $11.95 Child (Ages 2-12)

On an average day in Boston, the only animals you’ll see are squirrels, pigeons, and overeager dogs pulling at their leashes. If you’re craving a little bit more of the animal kingdom, your first stop should be the Franklin Park Zoo. And apparently, the animals there celebrate Halloween too!

This weekend on Saturday and Sunday, the zoo will be hosting their Zoo Howl event. There will be Halloween-themed crafts, games, costume contests, hayrides, storytelling, and a haunted maze.

There will also be a learning component, where children will be taught about animal enrichment, which is the zoo’s effort to offer animals creative outlets for their energy. This event is tailored toward younger children, but come on, who doesn’t want to see a gorilla playing with a pumpkin?
